The News Review: Edition 46

Here at The Gaming Review, we know that the modern gamer can be far too busy to search for all the latest in gaming news, so that’s why we’ve done all the searching for you, and put the biggest news stories from over the past 7 days in one place.

  • Xbox Boss Phil Spencer has confirmed that Microsoft are looking to make Xbox One players able to stream PC games to their consoles, after revealing at a conference that PC users could stream Xbox One games through Windows 10.
  • Sony have confirmed that PlayStation Plus subscribers will soon be able to use a ‘Vote to Play’ feature, where people will vote from a selection of games which they would like to become the next PS+ freebie.
  • Sony have also revealed that the PlayStation 4 has hit over 25.3 million sales worldwide, more than the PlayStation 2 after the same amount of time.
  • Sony and Evolution’s DriveClub meanwhile has hit the 2 million sales milestone.
  • Square Enix’s Tetsuya Nomora has revealed that the Final Fantasy VII Remake will feature a dramatically different combat system, while still retaining the Final Fantasy combat feel.
  • Psyonix Studios has revealed that Rocket League has been downloaded over 5 million times since launching less than a month ago.
  • Psyonix have also announced the first DLC package for Rocket League, called Supersonic Fury, which adds 2 new cars, wheels and rocket boosts, as well as 5 new paint types.
  • Nintendo is ready to update Super Smash Bros. with a tournament mode, as well as add further paid DLC in the forms of new skins and Nintendo 64 stages.
  • Warhammer 40,000: Regicide has been given a full release date, with the game becoming available in full on Steam on August 26th.
  • Klei Entertainment has revealed a new expansion for Don’t Starve, titled Shipwrecked, which takes the game to the seas, and will release on PC, Mac and Linux.
  • The voice of Batman, Kevin Conroy, has shown interest in doing a Justice League game with Rocksteady, following Batman: Arkham Knight.
  • Riot Games have killed off League of Legends character Gangplank in a story driven event. It’s likely the character will return once the event is over, but currently Riot have stated that they are not yet ‘addressing refund requests’ for the character.
  • SEGA have announced an enormous loss in sales; with the company reporting a 42% decrease.
