The Razer DeathAdder V4 Pro is the sort of mouse that makes you question why anything heavier ever seemed acceptable. At about 57 grams it’s absurdly light out of the box (roughly the same as holding an egg, if you’re not a weight fanatic), and that lightness combined with its ergonomic DeathAdder shape means it almost vanishes in your hand the first time you pick it up. That feeling of near-nothingness lets you flick and aim with minimal effort, and it is a big part of why this mouse feels so immediately sporty and easy to use.
Under the shell, Razer packs some serious hardware into this. The Focus Pro 45K sensor is accurate and fast, delivering high DPI possibilities and rock-steady tracking even at aggressive speeds. The 8,000Hz polling rate support over an (unusually attractive) wireless dongle is impressive and puts the V4 Pro squarely into competitive territory. For anyone who cares about raw pointer precision and minimal latency, the spec sheet lines up with real-world use: the mouse tracks with pinpoint accuracy with no issues on a range of surfaces.
In terms of comfort the V4 Pro keeps the classic right-handed DeathAdder form that suits full palm grips more than fingertip styles due to its size, although the sheer lack of weight does offer itself to a more dainty touch if you’ve got bigger hands. If your hands are on the smaller side and you like to fling your mouse around with your finger tips you might find it less natural, but for most players the balance of comfort and control is excellent and offers a very nice feel for longer cramp-free gaming sessions.

Clicks are where opinions will split. The V4 Pro uses redesigned Gen-4 optical switches and a refined scroll wheel that both feel crisp and responsive. The trade-off is that the main clicks are more pronounced than some ultra-quiet mice. In a gaming setup that is fine, after all tactile audible clicks can be reassuring in a firefight, but in a shared workspace or quiet office the louder actuation is noticeable. If you want a mouse that whispers at your desk, this is not it. For gaming though the feedback is satisfying and consistent and helps to eliminate accidental clickage. We tried it with a range of games from Borderlands 4 and Fortnite through to quieter affairs like Football Manager, and it hits the mark on everything we threw at it in terms of accuracy and consistency.
Battery life and connectivity are strong points too, though with caveats. Razer quotes up to 150 hours in lower polling mode, though you’ll see a bit less if you run the highest rates. In practice you get very good endurance in typical use, and the HyperSpeed dongle with its status LEDs is a helpful touch, showing your battery level, connection speed and DPI with a subtle set of small lights. If you push all the features up you’ll still need to recharge regularly, but at least you get fair warning through the dongle. Considering it doesn’t even feel heavy enough to even contain a battery, it’s still pretty impressive.
Ultimately the DeathAdder V4 Pro is an exceptionally fast, accurate and comfortably shaped esports mouse that will please players who prioritise responsiveness and minimal weight. It is not subtle, and it is not silent, but as a gaming tool it is superb. If you love the sensation of a mouse that feels almost weightless and you want clinical tracking with modern wireless tech, this is an easy recommendation.
