Here at The Gaming Review we know that you gamers can be far too busy to go searching the depths of the internet for the latest in gaming news, so we’ve compiled what we think are the most important stories from over the last seven days:
- Battlefield 4 has been banned in China, after the release of the controversial ‘China Rising‘ DLC. The Chinese government has accused EA of creating a form of cultural invasion.
- EA’s first person shooter Battlefield 4 is still experiencing connectivity issues, with many players unable to play online on any platform.
- Two of the founders of Criterion Games, best known for the Burnout and Need for Speed franchises, have left the company.
- Xbox Live director of programming Larry Hryb has said that Microsoft is listening to all feedback about their newly released console, the Xbox One, and plans to improve it.
- Fallout developer Bethesda is working on returning their classic Fallout games to Steam, after the games recently disappeared.
- Titanfall developer Respawn have stated that the game will not have mod support at launch, although it could be added in later.
- Respawn have also confirmed that Titanfall will feature snipers, but sniping mechanics will be different to modern shooters, and that quick-scoping and no scoping will be ineffective.
- Perfect World Entertainment, publisher behind Neverwinter and Star Trek Online, has announced a new console division that will target current and next-gen consoles.
- Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima has said the upcoming Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will be ‘hundreds of times larger’ than Ground Zeroes.
- A range of Marvel titles, such as Deadpool and Marvel vs Capcom, are no longer available to purchase digitally on Steam, Playstation Network or Xbox Live, following the expiration of licensing contracts.
- PEGI has listed Warframe for Xbox One, hinting that the free-to-play shooter may be coming to Xbox. Warframe developer Digital Extremes has yet to comment.
- Microsoft originally debated removing the disk drive on the Xbox One, making the console digital only.
