The News Review: Edition 10

Here at The Gaming Review we know that you gamers can be far too busy to go searching the depths of the internet for the latest in gaming news, so we’ve compiled what we think are the most important stories from over the last seven days:

  • Red Barrels have announced Outlast: Whistleblower, the first downloadable content for Outlast, which will tell a prequel story, include new maps and show the experiments that led to the events in the original game.
  • A new screenshot suggests that a male Wii Fit Trainer will also appear in Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros.
  • Sony have announced that PS4 Remote Play on Vita may only work at home, after confirming that Remote Play will not be available via 3G.
  • Players may be eligible for free cars and credits in Forza 5 if they’ve played previous instalments of the series.
  • Sony’s PS4 will not support external hard drives, limited player to the standard 500GB of memory that comes with the console.
  • Call of Duty: Ghosts will run natively at 1080p on PS4 and upscaled to 1080p from 720p on Xbox One.
  • Sony has announced that Planetside 2 will be coming to PS4 early in 2014, and will not require a PS Plus subscription to play.
  • EA has predicted that Playstation 4 and Xbox One will hit over 10 million launch sales combined.
  • Halo: Spartan Assault will be coming to Xbox 360 and Xbox One as a digital download this December, according to Microsoft.
  • PS4’s Dualshock 4 controller will work with PS3, PC, Macs and supposedly Xbox 360 with some tinkering, after Youtube user RageBeefSA posted a video of him using the PS4 controller on an Xbox 360.
  • Rockstar have announced a free ‘Beach Bum’ DLC pack for GTA: Online, which will feature new weapons, cars, tattoos, hairstyles and new jobs.
  • Nintendo has released a patch for Pokemon X & Y which fixes the game-breaking bug found if players save the game in Lumoise City.
