The News Review: Edition 13

Here at The Gaming Review we know that not everyone has the time to search for all the latest gaming news, so we’ve put together the most important stories from over the last 7 days in a quick and easy-to-read bullet point format for you busy gamers-on-the-go:

  • Rumours have emerged that Telltale, makers of The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us, are making a game based on George R.R. Martin’s Game of Thrones.
  • Atlus has revealed that the turn-based RPG, Conception II: Children of the Seven Stars will come to Playstation Vita and Nintendo 3DS in the West, in 2014.
  • Sony has announced that Gran Turismo 6 will be the first game in the franchise to feature micro-transactions, allowing players to buy in-game credits which can in-turn be used to buy new cars and parts.
  • Kazunori Yamauchi, creator of the Gran Turismo series, has said that Gran Turismo 7 may not be that far behind Gran Turismo 6, stating the “best case scenario” is GT7 coming out sometime in 2014.
  • Sony has posted a troubleshooting guide for owners of Playstation 4 consoles featuring a blinking blue light, which indicates a problem with hardware of video output.
  • The Xbox One will not be supported by Dolby Digital at launch, however surround sound will be available to those using a HDMI cable.
  • Xbox One will have a YouTube app available at launch for all territories where YouTube is available, with exceptions for users in Austria, Ireland and New Zealand, who will have to wait for a patch.
  • Valve has announced that the computer being used for in-home streaming cannot be used for anything else other than playing the game.
  • PopCap’s Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare will come to Xbox One and Xbox 360 on February 18th 2014 in North America, and February 20th in Europe.
  • Activision has accidentally leaked the names of upcoming DLC for Call of Duty: Ghosts – Onslaught, Devastation, Invasion and Nemesis.
  • Gearbox has revealed more DLC for Borderlands 2, the Thanksgiving-themed Horrible Hunger of the Ravenous Wattle Gobbler, which will be available on November 26th for £2.39.
  • Bethesda has trademarked Fallout 4 in Europe, which adds to the rumours of an imminent Fallout 4 announcement following the discovery of ‘The Survivor 2299’ teaser site.
