The News Review: Edition 50

We know that the modern gamer can be far too busy to traverse the depths of the internet in search of all the latest in gaming news, so that why here at The Gaming Review, we’ve done all the hard work for you, and condensed all the biggest news stories in the work of video games in to just one article.

  • The BBC are set to broadcast the League of Legends World Championships Quarter Finals, taking place between October 15th – 18th. Radio 1 DJ Dev Griffin will host the event, with Julia Hardy providing interviews, and Leigh ‘Deman’ Smith and James ‘Stress’ O’Leary providing commentary.
  • Capcom have officially revealed Brazilian jiu-jitsu specialist Laura for Street Fighter V.
  • 343 Industries have revealed that Halo 5: Guardians will take up 60GB of space on your Xbox One hard drive.
  • Spelunky has a new world record high score, at $3,404,400, breaking the $3.4 million barrier and beating the previous record of $3,399,600.
  • Yacht Club Games has announced that the release date for the retail version of Shovel Knight has been pushed back, and the Xbox One version has been completely cancelled.
  • Sony’s Playstation Now streaming service is available in the UK. PS4 owners can now pay £13 per month in order to access the library of PS Now titles.
  • Consumers are accusing Ubisoft of ‘deceptive marketing’ after customers who had purchased the Heroes of Might and Magic VII collectors edition found their purchase did not come with a CD disk of the game, despite it being advertised.
  • Bandai Namco has released a Network Stress Test for Dark Souls III. It’s currently downloadable for free for PS4 owners with a PlayStation Plus subscription, however it’s not playable just yet.
  • Psyonix has announced that the Delorean time machine from Back to the Future will be a playable car in Rocket League, and will be downloadable from October 21st.
  • EA have announced that Battlefield Hardline will be coming to EA Access on the 14th
  • Nintendo has updated the Miiverse, adding a variety of social features to the Play Journal live feed.
