January’s Free Games Preview

A selection of free games this month to hopefully remind people that all is not lost, and 2017 will be a happier year than 2016 (which was a tough one, and ranked high up the scale of butthead years):

Day of The Tentacle Remastered, PS4 (Cross buy on PS Vita)
Classic puzzle adventure game from 1993, remastered and brought up to date for a new generation.

This War of Mine: The Little Ones, PS4
Doing nothing for your positivity in January, this serious game has you playing as a group of civilians trying to survive a war-torn city whilst resources are scarce.

Blazerush, PS3
An arcade racing game with no brakes. Looks very similar to the classic Micro Machines.

The Swindle, PS3 (Cross Buy on PS4 and PS Vita)
A 2D thief-em-up set in a steampunk world. Want a review? We’ve got one…

Azkend 2, PS Vita
A tile swapping puzzle game boasting an exciting storyline.

Titan Souls, PS Vita (Cross Buy on PS4)
Action adventure game where a single hero with one arrow must assemble the shards of the Titan Soul in a quest for power.

A slight change in Xbox means that Xbox One games are available for a full month now. Yay!

World of Van Helsing: Deathtrap (January 1-Jan 31st), Xbox One
January needs to be uplifting! As monster hunter Van Helsing must kill everything in this horde-esque onslaught.

Killer Instinct Season 2 Ultra (Jan 16 to Feb 15), Xbox One
The manic beat em up’s second big update is now free for all. Don’t forget those combos!

The Cave (Jan 1 to Jan 15)), Xbox One & Xbox 360
Adventure from the Monkey Island creators. Assemble your team of adventurers and descend into the depths!

Rayman Origins (Jan 16 to Jan 31), Xbox One & Xbox 360
Classic 2D platforming as its most finest. Origins is a fantastic game.
