October 2019’s Free Games Preview

A pretty decent selection this month to keep you going into the dark evenings. Let’s take a look at what you’ll be able to play without spending so much as a penny…

Tembo the Badass Elephant (Available October 1 to 31 on Xbox One) – action side scrolling about a badass elephant. Nice animation but a bit of a cringe plot.

Friday the 13th: The Game (Available October 16 to November 15 on Xbox One) – asynchronous multiplayer with camp members trying to escape Jason. It’s ok, mileage varies based on friends availability to play. You will need to look past the jank though.

Disney Bolt (Available October 1 to 15 on Xbox One & Xbox 360) – game based on the surprisingly good film. It’s fairly standard gaming fare.

Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge (Available October 16 to 31 on Xbox One & Xbox 360) – sequel to the hit ninja action series. Sadly not as good as the original but worth a look.

The Last of Us Remastered (PS4) – chance to sample the original in its enhanced form. It’s brilliant, and if you haven’t played it, you should. Also the multiplayer is surprisingly good.

MLB The Show 19 (PS4) – baseball. But it’s also regarded as one of the best sports simulations out there, so in that respect it’s probably worth a look.
