No free games this month. April fools!! There are some, the highlight of which is the quite excellent Slay the Spire on Playstation. Details below, so see what you’ll be playing this month (descriptions taken from the game stores):
Another Sight (Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, available April 1 to 30) – Switch between two characters – the intrepid teen Kit, and the mysterious red-furred cat Hodge, as you explore the late Victorian era London in this steampunk fantasy platform adventure. With an emphasis on culture and character and packed with historical cameos, Another Sight focuses on the emotional development of the relationship between its two protagonists as they rely on each other to traverse the cleverly designed levels.
Hue ($14.99 ERP): (Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, available April 16 to May 15) – Unlock a world of colours in this beautiful platform puzzler. Search through a grey world for your mother who has turned an impossible colour due to the fracturing of the Annular Spectrum. Find the shards and make obstacles disappear to reveal new pathways and more puzzles. The further you go, the more colours you unlock and the tougher it gets.
Outpost Kaloki X (Xbox family, available April 1 to 15) – Build your intergalactic tycoon empire. When life gives you lemons, blast into space and start selling lemonade. And while you’re at it, why not add on an arcade, singles bar, or whatever your entrepreneurial big tycoon brain can cook up? Keep the aliens happy and rake in the cash.
MX vs ATV Alive (Xbox family, available April 16 to 30) – Gear up for some aggressive racing across a wide variety of tracks. Feel total control of your customizable rider and bike with the Rider Reflex. Have fun ripping thru the mud, sand, and snow as you own the competition.
Hood: Outlaws & Legends (PS4 & PS5) – Hood: In this intense online multiplayer2 title, rival gangs compete in daring heists to hit the wealthy where it hurts. One of the different game modes is State Heist: a full coop PvE mode where teams control spawn points to recuperate as much gold as possible. In Gold Rush PvPvE mode, however, two teams of four players battle it out in an attempt to execute the perfect heist, stealing and extracting treasure while fighting each other and the AI Guards. Equipped with unique skills and mystical abilities, each character moves in stealth to steal treasures unseen. It’s up to you to recruit your band of outlaws, master formidable fortresses and outplay your rivals.
SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated (PS4) – The classic platformer returns, faithfully remade in spongetastic splendour! Play as SpongeBob, Patrick and Sandy and use their unique sets of skills to thwart Plankton’s evil plan to rule Bikini Bottom with his army of wacky robots. Meet countless characters from the beloved series and enjoy horde mode for up to two players, online2 and offline.
