The News Review: Edition 9

Here at The Game Review we know that you guys don’t always get the time to go searching for all of the latest gaming news, so we’ve made it quick and easy by putting what we think are the top news stories of the week all in one place:

  • Head of Oculus VR Brendan Iribe has said they have fixed motion-sickness in the Oculus Rift, and that 4K resolution “is not far away.”
  • EA has announced that The Sims 4 will be available sometime in Autumn 2014. The Sims Studio general manager Rachel Franklin said that it would be “the most ambitious and the best game our studio has ever made.”
  • Gone Home has received an update which adds a brand new commentary mode to the game. The free update presents the commentary in the form of nodes around the house, which when prompted play an audio clip that delves into relevant insight. Our glowing review is right here…
  • Ubisoft has announced that Rayman Fiesta Run, the follow up to Rayman Jungle Run, will be released on November 7th on iOS and Android devices. Fiesta Run includes new abilities, worlds and power-ups.
  • Shinji Mikami, creator of Resident Evil, has said that the specifications for the Xbox One and PS4 are “almost identical.”
  • Microsoft has confirmed that the Xbox One will support up to 8 people in party chat at launch, matching that of Sony’s PS4.
  • Sony have announced that the Playstation 4 will allow you to use your real name, in a bid to offer a more personal and social experience.
  • Codemasters have announced the F1 1990’s DLC pack, featuring Michael Schumacher’s Ferrari F310 and Damon Hill’s Williams FW18, and F1 Classics Track Pack, featuring Imola and Estoril, for F1 2013. Both packs are currently available on Steam, Xbox Live and PSN for £6.49 each.
  • A petition online trying to convince Rockstar to release GTA V on PC has reached over 600,000 signatures, and continues to grow.
  • Telltale has announced The Wolf Among Us will be coming to iOS and Vita later this Autumn.
  • Ragnarok Oddessey ACE will launch early next year on Playstation 3 and Playstation Vita.
  • Angry Birds: Star Wars will also be heading to PS4 and Xbox One, as well as the current generation consoles and handheld devices.
