March’s Free Games Preview

March is a big month for Xbox One owners – Rayman Legends is the free game on Xbox One. Regarded as one of the best platformers ever made this is a serious treat for Xbox Gold subscribers (our review’s over here).

Xbox 360 owners aren’t left out. The first half of the month gets you Tomb Raider. A quality game, Lara Croft is stranded on an island and has to set out to save herself and her crew from a bunch of crazies.

March Part Two is Bioshock Infinite (review). A must play as one of the most talked about stories of the generation, the combat (in my opinion) isn’t the best but it’s worth sticking with. If these aren’t your bag, to celebrate 100,000,000 downloads of games through Games for Gold Microsoft is giving away double the games in April – that’s four for Xbox 360 and two for Xbox One.

Sony have (finally) announced the Playstation titles for March just in the nick of time, and it’s also a good show. Valiant Hearts headlines the PS4 (review). A world war tale of love, friendship and puzzles with a lovely art style and wonderful soundtrack really bad to be experienced. Oddworld New ‘n’ Tasty (review) is a ‘re-crafting’ of PS One classic Abe’s Oddysee. Another puzzler but in a different style this pair will give PS4 owners a fair amount to think about over March.

Cult hit Papa and Yo with its flamboyant visuals are out on PS3. Building a friendship with Monster and working with his emotions will enable you to help find a cure to save him. Definitely the month for putting your thinking cap on, PS3 owners also have access to Sherlock Holmes: Crime and Punishments (review). You choose how to conduct your investigations and face the consequences.

OlliOlli 2 is released this month and it’s free on PS Vita. Personally I’m looking forward to this having not played the first. A new look, new moves, and new combos sound pretty good to me. Finally, Counterspy is cross buy across all devices. Two global forces trying to nuke the moon and you most infiltrate both.
