I honestly thought it was April Fool’s when I saw the Xbox lineup this month. Nonetheless, there are a few gems, and a few ‘worth a try’s in this collection:
Vikings: Wolves of Midgard (Xbox X|S and Xbox One, April 1-30) – a Diablo-esque sprawl around the shores of Midgard – a Viking adventure with fantasy elements
Truck Racing Championship (Xbox X|S and Xbox One, April 16-May 15) – hard to add too much to the title of this one, it’s truck racing! For a championship
Dark Void (Xbox X|S and Xbox One, Xbox 360, April 1-15) – you have to take on an alien threat with the aid of a massive jetpack, in third-person action
Hard Corps: Uprising (Xbox X|S and Xbox One, Xbox 360, April 16-30) – run and gun action in the vein of Contra
Days Gone (PS4) – open-world biker, zombie survival action-RPG. Whilst on PS4, it runs enhanced on PS5, and I very much enjoyed it.
Zombie Army 4: Dead War (PS4) – third-person zombie killing action from the makers of the Sniper Elite series
Oddworld: Soulstorm (PS5) – Oddworld debuts on PS5, and free this month. A re-imagining of the Playstation classic, Abe’s Exodus
