I wanted this to be a little escapism from real life…
as you throw grenades or start picking them off from the pyramid, it just continues to build…
when you hit the sweet spot and manage to chain together a decent break it’s a brilliant feeling…
One of my favourite mechanisms is where you pick up a backpack and other players have to take the ingredients out of your bag…
I feel war-damaged…
you decide to save earth by teaming up with a devil called Judy…
after this opening session I was already feeling the effects of such a lack of support…
Kick doors, shoot dudes…
among all of this, I’ve struggled to see what the problem is…
The game moves quickly, and will often take less than 20 minutes to get through…
It’s a hark back to the original ToeJam and Earl many, many years ago…
You’re constantly picking up points of interest, places to go, people to find, talk to, side missions…
It’s definitely nice to have a smile before the game has even started…
The only way you’ll be figuring out how to race is by racing and getting it wrong…
there are enough new things here to make it a whole new game in its own right…
it’s really a jumping off point for learning more about historic riots…
there is a ritual where firstborn children are sacrificed to save the village…
the positioning of your tiles has a new layer of strategy…
